Built from 2162 to 2163, at the Cannard and Burnsharp shipyard in Aquilea, the Warrior class were the last of the armoured gun boats built by Regnia. Designed to be a smaller, affordable alternative to battleships and cruisers, armoured gun boats were the favoured type of small warship favoured by most industrial navies in the fifties and early sixties, and many lesser navies still employ them. However, the introduction of the faster torpedo gun boats gradually saw the armoured gun boats being phased out and by 2188, only the Warrior class remain in service.
